Australian Desert Lime is a good source of calcium, vitamins (C, E and folate) and lutein. 

Vitamin E is a potent lipid-soluble antioxidant that protects the body from free radical damage. The most biologically active form of vitamin E is alpha-tocopherol which was found in high concentration at 89.6% of the total vitamin E content in Australian Desert Lime.

Vitamin C is involved in collagen synthesis, regulation of gene expression and protects DNA and RNA from free radical damage.

Desert Lime is a great source of folate which is important for the methylation cycle and helps the body's production of blood cells and genetic material.  Folate is important in red blood cell production, the prevention of anaemia, and for the synthesis, repair and methalation of DNA.

Lutein is important for eye health, The concentration of lutein found in desert lime exceeded that of Hass avocados, a primary dietary source of lutein.
